I’m only a beginner age 67 and live in Australia , And think l have a lacquered tweed / ox blood cloth Limited Edition with alnico 5 Jensen P12N speaker . It is not known how many of this modal was made , on the circuit board dated Fender 2002 . And on the sticker for the valves on the left inside has “Hot Rod Deluxe” on the top , below that it got type of valves and below that has Corona California USA . On the top at the front has Fender Deluxe . The plat on the back has scratches and worn off, and a smaller plate on the right side on the back has Fender Limited Edition . I have paid $750 Australian for it , l’m wondering is it the real deal as you know more than I do . The next question is l like the music of the 1950’s rock’in’roll and rockabilly is this amp suitable . I have two Gretsch hollow body guitars one is g5422t 2014 and g5420tg OS 50s Limited Edition 2019 . Thank you for you help .

I have never seen another like it, however it did look the same as the PA-400S 12 channel version, same orange/yellow/grey/black knobs and placement of controls & I believe I’ve seen an 8 channel version in the PA-260 on the internet. I’m still looking for an old catalog with an image. If anyone can help please respond. Thanks David

I’m in the process of restoring a pair. One of the 4″x10″ Heppner midrange horns was blown out when I received them and, to make a long story short, I’m going to have to replace the horns outright (the currently pursued course of action) or get the blown one’s diaphragm rewound.

Im guessing they werent sold in bucket loads back in the day because the two models i have (636 and 626) have low serial numbers. But these speakers are real sleepers. My favorite sounding speaker that ive ever heard. They should put these back in production. They were truly amazing. And even at loud volumes they werent fatiguing. Anyway, just wanted to throw my hat in the ring and give credit where its due. Acoustic home speakers are truly incredible!

the Groove Tube Studio Bass Pre-Amp come into play? I purchased one in 1986(brand-new,one owner,me)
It looked like, and had the exact features of the most popular SWR. In fact,I thought the Groove Tube
Studio Bass Pre-amp was introduced before the SWR. Obviously,I’m not sure. I would welcome and thank you
for some insight/facts about this.

Sat, 25 Jul 2020 05:44:40 +0000http://www.21hz-backline.de/?p=1536#comment-1937Back in the late 70’s I bought a nearly new Acoustic
head and 106 cab at The Drum Shop in Wilmington DE. I think the head was a 136. It had 2 channels. Channel 1 had volume, bass, low mid, high mid, and treble control dials. Channel 2 had volume, bass, mid, and treble only. It lacked any graph eq. The 106 cab had two (Jensen’s)? 15’s forward facing. I was able to put it all in my 73 VW Bug along with my 73 RIC 4001. Played it to death over the course of about 6yrs. I split the signal from the Ric and used both channels at the same time. Gave me a unique blend of tone and bite. Plus a lot of rattle and hum. The amazing thing was,it always cut through without ever going above 3/4 volume because of the clarity. (When I used my Mutron 3000 it took over the room). It’s still the only rig I was ever to put together that could do that with 15’s. The Mark Bass Little tube 800 paired with a MB 4×10 and 2×10 cabs I now use almost 40 yrs later is the only other rig I can honestly say is as satisfying to play through. Eventually the head couldn’t take any more and after the fourth repair it died with its boots on. Made it through the night, one ch left, vol full up. Smoke and tears.
